My road to becoming a virtual assistant is an interesting one. An Illinois native with over 20 years of customer service experience and over 15 years of office experience, I moved to Connecticut in 2003. After a joyful 7 year stint as a stay-at-home mom, I started a popular hyperlocal blog in 2011 where I gained experience with managing WordPress websites, email marketing, and social media management.
I always knew I would return to the workforce once my children were in school full-time, but was unsure how to maintain the same level of availability. How could I have a career I loved and still be home with my kids over Christmas and Spring Break? And Summer Vacation, too?
In 2012 I tapped my passion for technology and started my virtual assistant business. Now as an entrepreneur and work-at-home mom, I cherish the flexibility that comes with working for myself while simultaneously helping other women build their businesses! Being a virtual assistant is my “dream job”. I love what I do! Every day is different and I’m learning all the time. I also get to work with some really awesome women. What’s not to love?
When not glued to my keyboard, I keep busy reading, running Mom’s Taxi Service™ for my two school-aged boys, and following Dave Matthews Band all over the country with my husband, Sal.
